Principal's WelcomeWelcome to St Patrick’s Parish School, Cooma. We are a Kindergarten to Year 10 co-educational school on the Monaro Plains and the gateway to the Snowy Mountains. We have 500 enthusiastic students and 49 wonderful staff located across the three campuses of our school. Our campuses are all located in the Cooma township. Our philosophy of education is captured in our short but encompassing Vision, ‘A School with Altitude!’ Our Vision is very apt geographically but it also suits us in terms of our beliefs about learning and life. We see our school as 'A School with Altitude'. We are a school that looks forward. We are a school where all students and staff can hold their heads high and be proud and confident learners. Obviously high academic standards are a feature of any great school and we set high standards in this regard. We also take pride in the pastoral care and the positive and affirming relationships that flourish at St Patrick’s. We are a school of excellence and quality education which are strongly reflected in our learning beliefs. A School with Altitude has students and teachers who believe that anything is possible…who believe that students can and will scale new heights of success. Our school is a school where students and teachers know they can take risks and can learn in new and exciting ways. A School with Altitude has a strong sense that God is with us… around us … always walking with us. Our Christian values are integral to the what, why and how we learn. Students at St Patrick’s learn to make good choices about life and to always live life to the best of their ability. We are an inclusive school where relationships and a strong sense of community are central to learning and being. We are a school where students not only develop their unique gifts but they are also genuinely affirmed and respected by others. We are a school where students and teachers are passionate about teaching
and learning. Regards Carolyn Jones
